Which "tough" case to get?

Has anybody tried the Otterbox, Ballistic, and/or CaseMate Tough Case?

I like:

1) overall protection, in particular the display
2) it being moderately easy to slide the case into and out of my pant pockets
3) if the case is thin.

I tried the CaseMate in the store and thought it was pretty nice with respect to 1) and 3), but found it a bit too grippy to slide comfortably in and out of my pocket. I also wonder if the other two companies have more experience with and testing going into building tough cases.

Also, did I forget any other products that provide tough protection?

Thank you!

I've the casemate tough case and whilst it offers a fair deal of protection, I've found it's almost like it's a touch too small for the phone. It's a very, very tight squeeze. There's no doubt it's well protected though. There's enough of a buffer to protect the screen from falls and I've no issues with getting it in and out of my pocket.

That being said, I'll probably ditch it when the otterbox is released over here.

I'm curious, why do you say you're probably going to ditch it for an Otterbox? I had an Otterbox for my iPhone 4 and find the CaseMate to have the feel of a more refined (and slim) product.

I'm using the Otterbox and I feel it provides sufficient protection. It has a rubber innercase which I'm guessing is to absorb shock and an out case that is plastic. This does make it slip in/out the pocket easy but since it's textured not TOO easy. The plastic elevates beyond the screen and camera lens which will protect those. You can use a fill screen protector to protect against scratches.

I will say though it is a biatch to put on and take off. And I will also mention I have nothing else to compare it to but Otterbox is a proven name in the game.

I also have the Casemate and I would agree that it doesn't exactly slide into my pocket, especially when wearing tight-ish jeans. However I would argue that this is a good thing when it comes to holding the phone as it helps to stop it sliding out of my hand. This is certainly a plus point when it comes to having a night out on the piss!

I suppose "ditch" was the wrong way of putting it, I'll be looking to try the Otterbox when released over here. I'd an otterbox for my Desire HD and I really liked it. The protection offered was 2nd to none, my phone fell out of my pocket whilst on my bike and escaped unscathed, even the case was relatively undamaged.

The Casemate seems pretty sturdy too, but I know Otterbox make quality kit so wouldn't mind trying that either.
