White screen

I went to turn on my phone earlier today and instead of booting up like normal, it went to a white screen with a number of options on it...I recall 'boot mode' 'fast boot' 'reboot' things like that. What was that screen, and how did I inadvertently bring it up? It works fine now.

it's the "recovery" screen... with phone off hold volume down button, press and hold power and it will bring it up

That explains it. I'm always hitting that dang volume button by mistake.
