I'm surprised no one has mentioned Philip Seymour Hoffman or Tommy Lee Jones yet. Both are always standouts every time I see them. I think I actually enjoyed Tommy Lee Jones in Lincoln more than Daniel Day-Lewis (who was incredible).

Phillip Seymour Hoffman has been in some great dramatic roles.

But,for me, he will be forever known for 2 roles.
