who uses task killers?

I don't use any task killers. I am not a heavy phone user. I use my phone mostly for email, web browsing, news/weather, maps, facebook/twitter and a few apps here and there. I don't find the need to use a task killer because I don't experience any slow down or lag.
 
I have just got my phone, but I have been using it heavily. I do not use a task killer much, but I have on occasion (after using many HEAVY apps, while using slacker radio etc) things can slow down. I simply opened my system panel application and closed everything, then things reopened that needed to and all was better.

I have decided I dont need to- and probably shouldn't- use a high profile task killer, but having the system panel application (that also functions as a task killer) handy on a home screen is a good thing.

This is the app I've been using. I normally only kill apps if I have a problem with my phone lagging. SystemPanel seems to open up more memory on my phone on average than Advanced Task Killer did when I used that, so that's ultimately why I made the switch. The other info you can see in SystemPanel is also nice.
 
I use advanced task killer, which does work, killing all background apps (customisable) with one touch, however i find that within an hour or so certain apps have reappeared leaving me to assume that simply killing an app isn't enough, those apps have to be manually configured to only open when i apply them, but i'm not sure this is possible with most apps?

+1, The Android OS was built that way. It can handle it's own pretty well. I suppose a Task Killer could be good piece of mind for some people, knowing they have shut down the running application, but for me, I put trust in the system.
 
I don't use task killers but I do have EStrongs Task Manager just in case.
 
i'm a heavy user of my phones and I install and uninstall software all the time. I very rarely use a task killer, and the times I do are for killing my own programs while I'm testing/developing them.

If I have a third party task that actually needs to be killed because it's slowing my system down, I'll uninstall it.
 
I mainly use task killers to kill heavy apps, or apps that run as a "service" instead of an app.

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.
 
Cant live without one. Useful for killing apps that are unable to close for whatever reason, or if smartkeyboard malfunctions again.
 
I seem to remember there being a good bit of advice in Systempanel lite about Android is built with memory management and you do not need to kill tasks unless they cause problems
 
Thanks guys. I find myself using it when my phone gets down to about 64m, because I think (no proof) that it messes with the speed and flow of my phone.
