You've got to be at least a little nerdy to have even heard of the G1 (or be a close reader of the Technology section of the WSJ, I guess).
You average consumer isn't going to care about a phone that none of their friends have and isn't in any ads... yet.
You'll learn soon enough to jump off that sinking shipTo top it off, I'm a Microsoft technology developer. Ssh! Don't tell them or they may revoke my MCPD certification.
Never! I've put too much time into it to justify a jump. It'll take a long time before they sink. I figure I'll have retired by that point, if it happens. You'll learn soon enough to jump off that sinking ship
Wouldn't say, "Im a nerd but i love smart phones and pda's." Anything that is new and challenges things that people think wouldn't be possible ie. Bar code scanner. This phone is great what'll happen over the next couple of years.
It can be a pain, but I like it better than straight ASP.NET apps. What versions have you worked on?*gag* Sharepoint is a horrible horrible piece of software. So glad I don't have to deal with it anymore.
Signed,

/raises hand.
Although, I probably won't go Android until Verizon takes the plunge.
Just wondering what kind of people are buying the G1/Android. I can see it being mostly computer nerdos like myself.
Don't knock the providers of my pay , however indirect they may be. I'm about to plunge deeper into the Linux environment. I'm debating switching my desktop to Ubuntu Server.I bought the phone because the iPhone *cough* sucks due to the lack of buttons. I need a keyboard and buttons plenty of buttons! Oh ya, I am a Linux freak! Long live Linus Torvalds! AND Micro$oft sucks
Are you located in Canada? I thought that Xerox left USA due to decline of sales here. Have i been mis-informed? Also, i work for my father as a network admin/ graphics design/ desktop support...the list goes on.Just made my mark in the IT field but I have ran my own business for a couple years. One of my clients I Admin their network remotely, and a couple of business I provide onsite when i can. But mostly, I am doing entry level IT work on the corporate side (mostly Desktop Support) and working contracts here and there.
Just signed a 6 month with Xerox for Field Tech. Can't wait to start this one.
Actually, every single, and I mean EVERY, person I showed mine off to has had extreme interest. geeky or not!Just wondering what kind of people are buying the G1/Android. I can see it being mostly computer nerdos like myself.
