Why are some of my contacts hidden?

Some of my contacts don't show up when I scroll thru the list. If I search I find them, but it's a pain to have this two-step deal to find a contact. How can I get them all to show up on the alpha list?

Possibly because the phone allows different accounts... some contacts might be under the "phone" account list and some may be under the "Gmail" account list and some may be under another account. .. make sure all accounts are active.

Go to your contacts and check the display options make sure you have all selected

I am having the same problem but after clicking display all it still has them hidden

I'm having the same issue, I can search and find a contact but when scrolling through the list it's not there. It's set to display All Contacts, and this contact is my main Google account which 99% of my contacts are in (which I can see fine). I've looked at the contact itself and can't see why it's not showing

My solution is following.
1. Create a new contact.
2. Enter the hidden contact's name.
3. It will show you the hidden contact as a dropdown.
4. Click that, and it will ask you if you want to update the contact.
5. Click update and save.
6. Now it will show on your contact list.

and is the only way I have been able to make the hidden contact show up.
or, you enter the phone number of the Hidden contact IF you know it.
either way, it will appear.
