Help why can't I reply or forward emails.

Hi Everyone,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Android Tab 2. I've had it for 2 years and never been able to reply or forward emails, if I delete the senders previous stuff in the body of an email, especially if there is lot, so it's always been my practise on my computer to delete any unnecessary stuff. When I do this and type my own text, then it goes to a black page and message says sorry but your email has stopped, so I have to open my computer to do whatever I want in email. I can send a fresh email but not one that I deleted previous text in. My friend can do it on her ipad so why can't I do it with Android. I don't like Apple so prefer to stay with Android. Does anyone know why this happens. Many thanks,
Will I be notified if someone has helped me or do I come back here?.
Joan.

Hi

You should see an alert at the top right of the page when you get a reply - but you know that ;)

What email app are you using? (You friend with an ipad is probably using something different.)

Are you deleting the contents of a received email and then pressing reply and creating a new reply?

Thank you for responding,
There is no alert at the top of an email, when I get replies, that is not a problem replies to my emails come through fine, it's when I want to reply or forward an email that I strike trouble and the whole thing shuts down telling me email has stopped responding, if I delete whatever text I feel is not necessary to keep, like email addresses that may be forwarded and should have been deleted before forwarding as an example. The app I use is the one that came with the Samsung tablet, it's just an envelope with an "e" on it. Now that I think of it I am not sure if I press reply or forward "before" I delete text, should I be deleting the contents before I press reply or forward?
thank you,
Joan.

Hi

Regarding alerts, I thought you meant for your posts on this forum - you should see on at top right of the web page when you are logged in and have unviewed answers to your posts.

Just tried on my samsung email app to delete text from a received email and I cannot find how to do that? I can delete the whole message or select and copy parts to the clipboard.

Anyway, I suggest you do forward or reply to the message before deleting part or all of it and see if that works.

Well, to delete unwanted text from an email that I want to reply or forward I have to click reply or forward, and then when I highlight and delete from the body of the email and type whatever I want then hit send that is when the whole thing shuts with the message "unfortunately email has stopped responding and needs to close". I cannot understand Android not fixing this. The only way as you said is to copy and paste whatever one wants to keep into an brand new email, it's ridiculous if this is the case. That's why I always come to my computer to answer email, as even copy and paste on the tablet is a pain, it doesn't always work. I think I would not bother with a computer at all now if I could just be able to send emails like I do on my computer, which is old and I don't want to get another computer. I used to be right into technology but I am over it now and can't be bothered, I am 80 years old and have been using computer s since Windows 95, so have had 98, XP and now Windows 7. I just want to be able to have the internet and do my email now and a tablet would suffice.
If anyone can tell me how to send emails or reply to an email on the tablet it would be great. Sometimes replies get so long reply after reply on the same email so some need to be deleted when they not longer apply, and just keep the last reply so the recipient can remember what they said, sometimes they end up being like a loooong thread in an email.
all so frustrating.
Many thanks for any advice.
Joan.
