Yes, I know this is an old question but I haven't solved it yet and I think it might be useful to others, too.
I have an HTC One M7, running 4.4.2 KitKat.
I'm developing an app and want to test it but I can't even run it on my own phone!
It installs ok - but when I click on the icon, it freezes the phone and I have to press/hold the power button for 10 seconds to reboot it.
Yes, I've checked the box to allow installation of apk files from unknown sources.
I've searched for answers on the Net. Some people think "anti-virus" types of app can cause this problem. I did have CM Security installed so I uninstalled it - that hasn't worked. Which other apps most likely cause this problem - and can there be any other reason I can't install an apk?
This apk works on my other HTC One phone (running Lollipop) and also on an old Samsung S3 (running Kitkat). So it seems to be an issue with this specific phone. Any suggestions most welcome.
