Help Why can't I save an image?

Sometimes I get images sent to me from friends, the images would play as if it were a slideshow. I tried to save them, but the only option available is "Set As". Any idea why?

Hello and welcome to Android Forums, Darren.

I've been in the habit of using my file manager to move that stuff around.. putting acquired images sent via email or sms in the Gallery folder gives more choices in the Gallery menus.

If you are using the stock messaging app and viewing the message, hit the menu button and there should be an option to save attachment. The attachment will be saved in the /sdcard/Download directory.

It is strange, but you cannot long tap and save the image while you are inside the slideshow. You have to get back out to the conversation view and then you could long tap and save the picture.
