Help why can't i view call durations??

i just got the lg optimus slider, can't seem to figure out how to see how long i've been on a call, shouldn't there be a timer running while i'm on the phone, or shouldn't it at least show up in the call log? theres nothing in the settings about it either. Am i just not finding it right or do i need to download an app or something for that?

minutes checker for VM will give you a running total,it shows duration on your phone before you hang up

On my Optimus V, when I go into call log it shows all of my calls. If I touch an individual call it will expand it and show the duration of the call.

I use DroidStats to track my minutes for the month (not sure why I bother, I've only gone under 100 minutes once).
