all mobile browsers have their issues. all of them. i really wish they would get their heads together and work on a great browser not just a better browser in one area and worse in others.

btw i use dolphin, ff, opera, and a couple of others before anybody gets defensive. each is better in some area but lacks in another. as a developer please oh please my wonderful droid community come together for a great browser

I think they're pretty good. I just need a browser that can have site-specific settings for Javascript and user agent. Right now Javascript is either on or off... and user agent is either desktop or mobile globally... not per site.

I love Opera Mobile. It does everything I need it too, plus it's fast and smooth. I'm not sure what features you're looking for, but if you're expecting a desktop-grade browser on your phone, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Dolphin is virtually perfect. Until more people depend on phones for browsing I doubt we will see anything better.

I'm not being trying to sound like a jerk, but why don't you build one?
The people that built all the browsers you talked about are not rocket scientist.

Get a book or go to http://developer.android.com/index.html put some time into it and make a lot of money if you build something people end up liking. The worst thing that can happen is you learn something.

Just remember to Keep It Simple.

I have no issues at all with Dolphin. Once I found out I could turn off the side bookmark feature I had no complaints. It's fast and renders websites great. Plus I love the gesture support.

Never had issues with the stock Android browser. Does what needs to be done.

What is the combined feature set you want in a browser?

I run dolphin in desktop mode and it's pretty perfect for me.

Only problem I've ever had is it won't render the whole page correct on google voice but firefox does. I only use gv a few times a year when I'm selling stuff on cl so its no big deal. (also why I don't have the gv app)

Gotta put in a vote for Firefox. To me it has the best UI by far, some good extensions and no, I couldn't care less that it doesn't have friggin' flash.

Noscript is available for FF mobile.

Too be fair, FF and Opera are made by large, multimillion dollar companies. I don't know much about dolphin's origins, but I do know that its foundation is funded by many massive companies.

I'm not meaning to imply that I don't believe he could go on to make the greatest browser yet, just that you seem to be seriously underselling what goes into a modern browser.

What exactly does the OP want from the browser. I like many love Dolphin HD and actually returned my iPhone 4s because its version of the app did not work like the Android Version.

It is the closest thing to this computer screen running Chrome that you can get on a Smart Phone.

to be clear the browsers listed are decent in most areas. dolphin and stock struggle with certain css that make it unusable on variable sites such as huffingtonpost and even some google sites. they tend to fix to the initial screen size and cant scroll down. opera tends to struggle in js most notably for an example google products like translate or checkout. firefox is cool but no flash support.

as for making my own, no time. my biggest wish is to have the three biggest to combine there heads and make a super browser.

Well not to argue, but I just went to Huffington and see no problems in Dolphin HD browser. even toggle between Android and desk top. maybe U should post a screen shot that depicts the specific problem at the site. I can provide U screen shots of what I get should U like to see them.

nevermind reread. they did improve but from time to time it tends to hook to the top of the screen. ill look up another site later thats an android developer site via google that i have yet to see work right.

Ok. I kinda know what u mean though. there are pages like nacar.com that are crowded and do not properly display. I just do to the mobile version. Verizon's page is graphic intensive too and usually does not load like on the computer. I am happy with this tho.

i just did a quick search but this isnt the actual google site i mentioned. open this in dolphin Android Developers and notice you cant scroll down. now open in opera and you can. i havent figured out why this is happening as i have a few sites that are pure css3 that do this even if there is no content.

personally i love dolphin but this needs to be fixed as it seems to be a css3 issue in the browser. again opera has its own issues as well as mentioned above

Haven't seen anyone mention XScope. I've been using that one for quite a while now, I really like it. Tried others, but kept going back to XScope.

Well, I do not know why but some web sites do not work in landscape mode. flip urn phone to portrayed and the referenced page scrolls left to right and up and down

discovered this last sat as I was trying to fer money from savings to checking so I could buy a riding mower at sears.

all tabs at sdk site work in portrayed but not in landscape.

I guess I'm using the stock Android browser. What is the name of this browser, is it Chrome related? So far I'm pretty satisfied using it.

Thnx.
