Why do I need a web browser?

I don't do a lot of web surfing on my phone. I have 6 bookmarks but only look at them maybe once a week. Speed seems to be ok, don't really have anything to compare it to except my pc. Are there any other reasons to download Opera or Dolphin or any other browser? TIA :smokingsomb:

I would say if you dont surf the internets much on your phone, a browser is not needed. I had Dolphin installed at one point, but I didnt notice much of a speed difference. And since I dont surf much either, I didnt find it worth my while... Default works fine for my browsing preferences...

Depends - Boat has some nice options. I think both Boat and Dolphin will save a web page or article as a PDF.

I like geology road logs. The National Park Service has quite a few, but the pages are in HTML format. All well and good if you are in range of a signal. If you aren't, PDF is the way to save. This applies to DIY and other informational sites.

I mostly only use my browser on the phone for looking up info, scores, and some webmail that I refuse to use the mobile version of. The tablet is a different story.

You'll almost certainly need a browser if you intend to use open or public WiFi, for the landing and log-in pages. The default browser is fine for this.

Google chrome is simply the best, stable and there is no limit for the number of tabs opened. There is no need to install many browsers but in case some day there is a requirement for heavy internet usage via phone, chrome would be fine
