Why do some apps auto update others need approval

Why do some apps auto update while others need approval?

Thanks.

If the permissions the app requires are changed, you must authorize the update. This is a security check the make sure the innocuous solitair app the had no permissions when you installed it doesn't update itself and give itself permissions to your first born child.
