Why does AF app need Facebook access?

Is it just one of those "sign uo using Facebook" things?
I don't remember signing up tbh but heres what it says in Add Ons Detector

I'm just interested (and wondering if this is part of the reason the AF app is SO battery thirsty)

I would guess that it's just a stub left in from the Tapatalk base code, since Facebook login doesn't seem to be implemented in the AF-branded app.

The app needs Google login and an update.
