Why does Android MMS suck so much?

There is like a 300kb limit and even when I use Handcent to up the limit the messages just don't work. Like ffs this is 2012, I have unlimited everything on my contract with really great signal thanx to Three, let me send MMS that are a few Mb. This isn't like 2004 Mobile era here...

It must be a network thing, my GF has similar issues, she's on O2 and they limit message sizes to 250KB (so it seems). However, I'm on Orange and I've managed to send 1MB files no problem.

Its a carrier limit in some cases. I remember back when I was still using Symbian, there were people using unlisted phones on T-Mobile in Europe (basically unlocked phones that T-Mo doesnt offer) and the carrier limits them to 300kb MMS no matter what setting. If they use their SIMs with a listed phone it can send bigger MMS.

You'd better tell Three that. It's a limitation of their service, 300k max MMS size.

BTW scaramoosh, will you do the fandango?
