Help Why does Google Play Services take up 100MB?

Is there any way to limit how much space Google Play Services uses? It's using a lot of space and the space on my phone is limited. I have some other Google apps that take up a lot of space but I can't switch any of the Google apps to SD for some reason.

I have 1GB of internal storage with about 800MB used, 200MB free. My phone is Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Thanks

You can't switch system apps to SD (in fact most phones don't let you move any apps to SD, and that only moves part of the app and none of the data anyway).

I don't know any way of controlling its size. They've steadily bundled a lot of stuff into this black box, so any Google service you do use will almost certainly break if you stop this one.

You've got something rather vintage there I think, ICS 4.0.4 with only 1GB storage. Are you trying to keep it going? Like you're trying to use current Google services on it. It might be time to buy a new phone.
