Can someone tell me how to prevent widget icons from resetting after an app update? With Chrome, I added site shortcuts to the home screen - each automatically display as whatever the site uses as their icon, like the big colorful G for google.com. After the Play store pushes an update, the icons are still there but they have reverted to the default Chrome icon.
Another example, Whatsapp contacts traditionally show the contact's name and picture. After app updates, they revert to the green Whatsapp icon - even 'WhatsApp' is displayed below the icon instead of the contact's name.
How do I stop this from happening or how do I fix it quickly after app updates? My current workaround is to delete the widget and re-add it - after every update.
