Help Why does my S3 lag so much when swiping?

Great phone but I'm surprised by the amount of lag when swiping across the screen. There's a small but very noticeable delay between swiping and the phone performing the required operation which could be anything from swiping through homescreens and menus or playing Temple Run. Even my rooted HTC Desire appears to be a lot more responsive.

Can anything be done to correct it aside from rooting or waiting for Jellybean?

Do you have power saving mode on? It cuts processing speeds down quite a bit and can cause screen swipe delays.

So does mine, always when i swipe to the right for some reason...Its just a half a sec lag and it shoudn't be doing that with 2 gigs of ram in this phone!

Blame it on Touchwiz. I have placed my co-workers S3 (stock) next to mine running AOKP Jelly Bean and it blows the doors off his in terms of speed. My drawn comes up noticeable faster then his and swiping screen to screen is buttery smooth.

I've tried clearing the cache, got rid of the live wallpaper, its not in powersave mode...still lagging as before. Temple Run and Fruit Ninja are almost unplayable.

I would root and Rom it in a heartbeat if it was my phone but I got it for my niece and I don't wish to root it yet.

Looks like I'll have to wait for the official JB update. Its disappointing tbh

Something isn't right; wife and I are stock, rooted w/live wallpapers (she has a very busy aquarium) and there is no hitching at all...completely smooth.

Maybe start looking at widgets or other CPU hogs; something seems to be bogging it down.

I thought it might be something hogging resources but I couldn't find anything.

But it's all good now. I got the Jelly Bean update today and it has sharpened everything up to practically iPhone levels in terms of responsiveness. +1 for Project Butter.
