Help Why does my screen keep crashing?

Inkina

Hi, I've got a Samsung Galaxy tablet and whenever I try to use it, the screen goes very strange, i.e, turns to a stripy 'greyed out' theme.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks

That's what I suspected, but I posted with the hope that there was a simple solution. But since it's going to cost nearly as much as the value of the tablet to get the screen replaced, it seems a bit pointless. :(

One way to tell for sure if it's a hardware issue is to take a screenshot of the device (not sure of the button combo on Samsungs, but on most other devices, it's Power + Volume Down). If they appear on the screenshot, it's software. It does look like a dodgy screen though, sorry.

My other half is in a similar situation, the screen on her Nexus 7 is knackered and it's going to cost more than the cost of a new device to replace the screen.

Are you covered under warranty?

Screenshot on my Galaxy Tab is power + home, but i'm afraid I agree with the others .... looks like a hardware problem.

From an off state, does the screen still display the startup logo and boot normally only to have the screen freak out after it's been on? Or does it look like that as soon as it's powered up?
