Why doesn't list of old wifi sites refresh

I think it is so inelegant that there is no option to shorten the list of ancient wifi sites I have connected to. Yes, you can go in and "forget" them... but I'd love not to have that long list of sites every coffee shop I've been in. Better to have the option to keep than to auto keep every one! I don't remember iphone having this issue.. Am I missing something?

Any wifi AP within range of your current location will be displayed, regardless of whether you've previously connected to it or not. Only "remembered" connections are persistent i.e. show as "Not in range" however.

Iirc the iPhone is exactly the same.

yep... I was afraid of that. a bit inelegant. Maybe they will allow us to swype them away in future or allow an option to make them "stick" or not. Not a huge deal.

Your computer remembers every location it connects to as well. This is just the default behavior. It's meant to make things easier to use.

I agree though,Swipe to wipe would be nice

When I connect to a WiFi hotspot that I'm not likely to use again I'll just "forget" it when I leave that area.

Then you don't have a list of 40 old ones. :)

I'm sure iOS is exactly the same. My phones have a long list of APs. Never know I might stay at the Shangchao Hotel in Beijing again, be passing through Zhengzhou Airport, or even having a pint at a Wetherspoon's pub in Bristol at sometime in the future, David Qing's apartment in Shenzhen, Dragon Hostel in Hong Kong, "KLIA" Kuala Lumpur etc.

Could think of it as a list of happy memories, that'll remind you of the good times you had at Starbucks or KFC on that foreign holiday last year. :D

Although a long list of TP-Link, TP-Link, TP-Link, TP-Link, TP-Link, Linksys, Linksys, Linksys, Linksys, Netgear, Netgear, Netgear, Netgear.... may not be so inspiring.
