Help Why don't I have widgets?

Hi all, got my S3 yesterday and this one issue has me stumped...when I go to my apps screen, and then click "Widgets" on the upper right, shouldn't I have some pre-installed widgets there? Like, when I go into Settings, and then application manager and view all, I have a bunch of clocks in there (digital, dual digital, etc), and some different weathers, but those don't show up in my normal apps page? I want to change my default weather/clock widget on my home screen, but I don't see where that widget exists anywhere. Right now the only widgets I have are from apps I've downloaded...speaking of which...

When I download apps that I know have widgets (handcent, tapatalk, facebook, etc), and go to the widgets page, those icons are there, but not as widgets--just the same icons as on the apps page. And when I hold down on one to add that "widget" to my screen, all it does is add the app icon to my screen. Not the widget.

What gives?

Im not sure but yes you should have a ton of widgets installed out of the box. Take the phone up to a dealer and have them look at it to see if it might be something simple. Might need a phone wipe to reset it.

Are you using the stock Home Launcher application?

Yours doesn't look like the SS below?

I am using the stock everything, yeah...my Widgets screen looks nothing like your screenshot...other than the "Apps" and "Widgets" up top.

I even have that Google search widget on one of my screens, but the widget (the choices between the light and dark search bar) does not show up on my Widgets screen.

If you don't have too much data on your phone I might recommend a Factory Reset to see if they come back upon clearing everything. You will lose your apps and such but they should auto-download from the Play Store again, but its what I usually recommend for a strange problem like this.

You can wait to see if anyone else has another recommendation / idea before you go on, but just my best guess. This can be done through Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset

Problem-solved! User-error. I was clicking that down-arrow next to "Widgets" thinking that would take me down to the widget-level or however you want to word that...anyway, that arrow is there to show only my downloaded apps. When I click on "Widgets", the actual word, I see widgets-galore.

Still, thanks for the help! Your screenshots made me re-investigate and see what the hell I was doing wrong.

HA! I had to go look and see what arrow you were talking about - I had not noticed that one before! Learn something new every thread, just about.

Glad it was something that simple.

Glad you got it all sorted out.

Again, welcome to AF and enjoy your stay!
