Help Why "Gallery" using 15% of Battery when not in use?

As of two days ago, my Note II has shown an incredibly fast battery drain. I have not done anything new to the phone and no new Apps installed.

It's a VZW Note II and still on 4.1.1. I got it the first day it become available on Nov 29 and it has been running stellar.

I just checked the battery usage and it show Screen 37% and then Gallery 15% as the second highest user. Why is Gallery using power, when it's not even in use. I have removed the battery and now restarted and charging.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Cheers, S

Double check to make sure your pics aren't automatically uploading to your Google account via Picasa. In order to check this, just go to the Settings for your Google account and make sure that Pictures are un-toggled for automatic sync.

where is that option exactly. I have disabled Picasa Uploader and restarted the phone and it still shows 15%. I did that before posting this topic.

Settings>Scroll Down to Accounts>Google>Click on Account>Check to make sure that the Picasa Web Albums is unchecked.

Other than that, I'm trying to think of what else could be causing the heightened drain for gallery. It definitely does seem like some sort of upload or background process.

-EDIT- If it's the actual Gallery that is showing drain, go into the actual app

Menu>Settings>Make sure that Sync is disabled in the gallery.
