Hi

I bought my P500 around 2 months ago (my first android phone).. I was excited . It was an upgrade from my previous Motorocker e6e & A780 ( Pretty old) yep...

Ther reason i liked these phones was because they were based on Linux.
Linux from my point of view meant complete freedom to mess ( personalize) the phone and getting more from the phone ....

But with P500 things are different ... I love the phone no doubt but there are few apps that need root access to uninstall. With the latest upgrade in firmware z4root does not work..

I know everybody is rejoicing that the day of free Linux based smartphones is finally here but i feel preventing root access to phones is just a mean thing to do .....

Companies launching these phones are putting in Apps that give useless content to user I dont want to know if a certain celebrity was caught doing drugs or what color of there underwear was on friday.

I treat all these updates as 'spam' which we are buying ......

I am here to find out how go really 'OWN' the product that i have bought and not prevent it from becoming another dumb terminal that the company uses as a marketing platform.

PS: I dont mind the adds in the free apps because hey ' you are using it for free' but I am against the 'SPAM' generated by system itself ...
