Why I switched from Samsung, To other android brands.

My house is littered with electronics. and old ipad, a chinese android 4.4 smartwatch, a samsung, a oneplus, a samsung galaxy tab s2, a teclast tbook 11, a kindle fire 7", a zte paragon, A Leagoo m5, A polaroid a8, and so much more. And it all began with samsung. I saw it and i loved, I bought it and my opinions changed. I will tell you why I will not buy Samsung anymore. *Note: still staying with that android BBY*
Guersney, 2016. I pass a small electronics store, me at this point still an IPHONE user (ewwwwww) sees it. My dad's old iphone 6 after 1 year and a half had broken, and I after spending 2 wks in france with a BLU LIFE XL was liking the ANDROID experience and everything it had to offer. So after some research on the vacation i was on, i learned that the international verrsion was faster, longer battery, rootable, and no bloatware, and yea, 10 Billion times better. So when i saw it there, NO TAX, Cheap, and Glorious (should mention it was $600 about) i was very wanting it. Lemme sum it up: I bought it. My first experiences with it was blazing fast. I loved it honestly. IOS*10000000000000. But after a few months back in america. My opinion began to waver. The phone seemed to be SLOW, i was perplexed. It was supposed to be a flagship yet i was getting up to 3 minutes to start up the phone (3 %^% Minutes!) To top that off, my 32 gigs were wearing down and I had learned the truth, You can't move everything to an sd card. My eye was wandering to the apple store, but then BOOM ONEPLUS 3 6 GIG RAM 64 GIG STORAGE $440 GET IT NOW U IDIOT RUN AWAY FROM DEM CRAZY APPLES. I perked. I researched, and I liked what i found, one problem, i didn't really have the funds. So i said eh whatever and continued with my s7. About 5 months later I think the Oneplus 3t was announced. And i wanted it so badly, little to my knowledge, I would soon be in luck. Lets fast forward to now, 10 days ago id say. Me a guy living his daily life, but then

Laptop-nope. Got my bae (32 gig ram, i7, 1060 6 GIG Vram, MSI laptop, 1 month old)
Tablets-hehe (has tablets everywhere)
HMMMMM (looks at my phone). Do they sell oneplus 3t's on amazon. Yes they do! I ordered 1+ dbrand case O_O. It comes- It is FREAKING AMAZING. My s7 quivers in fear as I through it aside to use this BEAUTY. Fast, OXYGENOS, newer operating system. Where can i go wrong (no problems yet :D). So i put my s7 up for sale and boom oneplus had succesfully stolen samsung's business. I have now decided that I love my flagship-killer and will take intrest in ONEPLUS from now on. It sounded like a myth to me at the price, like the $4 smartphone, but i was pleasently suprised. So Hey if your like ewww i miss the headphone jack from this iphone *!@&@ 7 then dont go for a samsung. Get a oneplus, you'll thank me later.
 
My first Samsung mobile product was the Samsung Q1 UMPC. It was kind of bulky though but I was fascinated by its ability to write on the screen. Then the t-mobile G1 came out and got me hooked on Android. Once I broke that I thought of Samsung. I've had the SII and the Note 3. Nice devices bit something was lacking. HTC came out with the M8 and those glorious stereo speakers and I've been using HTC mobile products since.

hm. The camera looks good on the htc but i do not personally like the design
 
The Ultra series?
They're are departure from the One series.
Obscenely beautiful but there's a price for beauty.
I need a headphone jack, I can't go back to dongles.
Love the 10's chamfered edges!
 
No stereo speakers though but they used some BoseWave inspired tech to bring the Bass on the 10. Ultra might be changing that.

I'm thinking about going back to Samsung this year. Their slim, rectangular style for the Galaxy 8 series looks good. Haven't heard much about the sound system though.

ehhhhhhh. I dont recommend it. Unless they boost up to 6 gig ram then i would not recommend it.
 
I left Samsung a last year as a daily use phone. Until recently, all Samsung phones for use in the States were carrier branded devices. When you pile on the bloat that carriers add to all the bloat that Samsung adds, it was getting crazy. I think I had over 50 apps frozen with TB after I got the thing rooted. Carriers locking the bootloader was also a big turn off.
Switched to a Motorola X Pure and haven't looked back. Close to pure Android as you can get outside of a Nexus and what extra apps Motorola installed are actually useful. I think of mine as a small Nexus 6.
Easy to root, custom development available and fairly easy to take apart if needed.
 
Best bang-for-buck I ever had was my Galaxy S2. It won over the HTC Desire HD as I could use the 4.3" display comfortably one-handed due to it's slimness. Once I tired of stock I rooted it and over the next 3yrs it was flashed with countless custom firmware and kernels. I over-clocked, under-volted and generally abused the heck out of the poor thing, and its worst retaliation was the occasional bootloop. When I finally parted with it the trade-in price gave me a nice 15yo single malt.... I still miss that darn phone. :(
 
My only Samsung device is a Note 10.1 (2014 edition, so called since it was released in 2013). I use it primarily for work, annotating documents without the bulk and waste of printing, so it's much less loaded than my phone. Was originally unbelievably full of unremoveable (sans root) bloatware despite no carrier being involved, but the (very late) 5.1 update did remove a lot of that.

It works fine for what I use it for, but the RAM management is inferior to my phone (an HTC that's older than the Note): the phone has 2GB, the tablet 3GB, but in terms of app reloads you'd think it was the other way round. Which isn't a problem for how I use this device, but between that, how long it took them to release an update, and the fact that they never updated a lot of their accessories for the updated Note 10.1 have not really encouraged me to look at their other devices. The active stylus support is what swung it for me, but they no longer seem very interested in that for tablets (just the occasional variant of their mid-range A series these days).
 
I used to be a moto faithful - loved every device of theirs I owned. SO in the death lul before the moto X2015 I bought a samsung note 3. Figured I'd love the stylus and the screen size . . . . TO be fair I did love it at first - but I have to admit I used the stylus less than I thought I would. But I won't say it wasn't useful. I wish case makers would take a page and include a hole of one for other devices but I digress.

It was the samsuck software add that destroyed my view of the product. Most of it you could sidestep - but then some of it would intervene when you didn't want it too. Like their video player. Then update later some stuff stops working. Can we get 6.0 on the thing - nope. Yet it has the hardware to easily run it.


I still have it - it's my spare. But I moved on over to the LG V20 - and so far the LG software experience is far far superior. Even their special 2nd screen doesn't play games with what it won't do. IE it's version of media controls will work on any player system. Google music - spotify - jet audio - AMP - netflix - HBO go.

If samsung implemented something like second screen and controls it would only work with their music player and smurf you for wanting something else.

I will never own another samsung product again - keep in mind though during my span of owning the note 3 I bought a samsung Blu Ray player and it acted all sorts of wrong after year one and a major software update.
 
I have had three Samsung phones, two were flip phones, very basic, no thrills. My third was the Samsung Galaxy S3. Overall it was a great phone. The only downside was the bloatware, unfortunately Samsung is well known for it. I think I got lucky with mine because I had access to all types of files and menu options that weren't available on my wife's Samsung Galaxy S, nor her note 2.
I had all kinds of options for changing things like the color of the clock to different patterns for the keypad. I also had the option to actually uninstall some of the bloatware, not all but some. the camera was the best part, but now I'm a Nexus fan
 
I've had 8 Samsung's, 3 Nexus phones, and 1 iPhone 4S. My VERY first phone was the iPhone 4S but my very first Samsung, and my very first Android, which I still use today, is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Then in 2015 I got an S4 and a Tab 3 7.0, both of which weren't under any carrier. Before all this, I had a Note 5 which was under AT&T

Then like 2 weeks before Christmas of 2016, I canceled my AT&T service and switched to Sprint, mainly because their bootloaders weren't locked. I then sold my old iPhone 4S and all of my Nexus phones so I could buy myself a Tab 4 8.0, a Galaxy Alpha, both of which were not under any carrier and 2 Galaxy S7's for me and the other was a surprise gift for my mother on Christmas. Her phone under AT&T and mine under Sprint. The other 2 device's I got where used in my "Mad house of Android modding", which is what friends like to call my at-home office.
