Root Why is Android OS killing my battery?

andMego

Battery use in settings is telling me that it's using 38% and screen is using 27%. This happens even in airplane mode. Running stock rooted zv5 and have twrp. This has been happening since I got the phone. Factory resetting didn't help so I suppose it's a problem with the stock rom. Someone online said formatting the SD card might help so I tried that but it didn't.

I installed gsambm in system priv-app so it has root access and it's also telling me that Android OS (kernel) is the top thing killing my battery. Everything else is very low. This problem only happens when the screen is on. Please help

Till yesterday I was using the stock kernel but since gsambm told me Android OS is kernel I figured a custom one might work better. I installed the uno kernel (the only one for stock rom) but it didn't help. Now system battery use is telling me that Android OS used 51% and screen used 30%. If it is a problem with the kernel (the uno kernel is built off the stock one I think) how can I figure out which part of the kernel it is?

Using the zv6 update didn't help at all. I also tried the stock zv5 debloated no gapps xperia apps and it didn't help either. I did a clean install both times. It happens even before I start changing settings and installing apps. Any ideas? Will the logs from BBS help anyone figure this out?

What timeframe is the battery getting drained? How long of a period of time?

In post #29 of
http://androidforums.com/threads/zv5-debloated-no-gapps-xperia-apps.958304/ I'm getting over 18 hrs of extensive use plus 6 hrs of sleep, when i recharged I was at 12% going on 27 hrs.
The phone is lasting a long time just it should be lasting much longer. I probably get as long as you do but I'm using it very lightly (airplane mode since I'm in Canada now, location and sync turned off, brightness at 0% majority of the time, not very heavy apps, etc.).
Now I'm using candy5 and I only need to recharge twice a week with heavy use.
Would it make sense for me to:
Do a nandroid of candy5
Wipe everything except external SD
Flash that modified stock zv5
Install BBS
Let the phone run with the screen on for 8 hours or so (without doing anything) since that is mainly when the problem happens
In BBS share the four different kinds of log files to my SD
Do a nandroid
Restore my candy5 nandroid
Upload the four log files to my Google drive and post the links for them here

Would that help? Any suggested changes to that plan? Thanks

That would work, but i think your chasing rainbows. Meaning your using Candy 5 and recharging twice a week. Your doing great, how much more are you trying to obtain?
To really get longevity, you need to shut/disable things. MyAndroidTools by Wanqi will allow you to disable - services, background receivers, activities and more. Nothing on my device runs without me allowing it.

Main reason I want stock is for WAY better standby time (also because of the small bugs in candy5 but don't really mind those much). With stock zv5 I left the phone on without using it for four weeks and the battery only went down 20%. With candy5 it goes down that much in two days tops. Problem isn't going into deepsleep (I get a few seconds of "awake with screen off" every day), but that deepsleep itself uses battery (I use the power nap xposed module to get rid of wakelocks). How can I get the phone to use less battery when it is deepsleep? I greenified basically everything but that doesn't help. Thanks
