Why is backup assistant primary for contacts?

I just turned in my GNex for a G2 and now whenever I go to edit existing contacts they are under Backup Assistant. As such, any editing I do to a contact has to be done twice to make sure that it is also edited on Google for my google contacts.

Is there a way to make Google the primary or am I stuck with Backup Assistant always coming first?

If you add Google as an account you should have the option when editing to edit the Google not the Backup Assistant.

Right, but will the phone always default to backup assistant? Damn bloatware

No you should be able to choose which one you want to edit from. When I go to my contacts all of them are already google contacts. If your contacts were backed up using the Assistant then yes it will default to them.

The contacts created need to be google contacts then they will default as google and you shouldn't need to change them.

When you create a contact you should be given an option which to create.
