I have been checking my battery usage the past couple days as somtimes it seems when certain apps are open it drains much quicker than normally. I have a Desire HD.
So I have been noticing that if I let the phone on over night, the 2 single apps that show as the largest battery drainers are Google Reader and Google maps. I have tried several apps from the market that can be used to show processes and they show the same thing. Google maps seems to be running and draining juice even though I didnt start it. What I mean is I can kill all apps, let it run over night and the next morning the batery usage monitor will show a number like 45% for Maps and the maps process will be running if I check my task manager but I havent launched it.
Is there any way to prevent this? How can I control that it starts or not. Why does it show as a running process even though I have not started it?
Same goes for google reader. I have deleted it now but it constantly showed up as using processor resources even though I havent even launched it. How can it use processor time when I dont even use it?
Maps and reader are the only apps showing up in the battery usage dialogue as top juice sucking apps. Of course I wont delete Maps, its awesome, but what can I do to not have it use my battery even when not in use. Anybody else experiencing this?
Any help appreciated.
