Root Why is this phone so hard to root??!?!

This phone is driving me crazy. Got it yesterday and i've tried everything. my first android was the hero, followed by the evo, followed by the galaxy s II, followed by the nexus, and now this. i've never had any problem rooting at all up until this phone.

i tried oneclickroot with my mac: didn't work
found out that i have 2.3.6 software which makes it harder to root.
Used my work pc and Superoneclick: doesn't work
tried Odin: doesn't work.

any other options that i might be overlooking? i'm going crazy!

Follow the link....this is how i rooted my phone. Easiest thing to do bud. Thers also a video on youtube showing you how to do it. Just search on YouTube "how to use odin" and you should find it.

worked day and night. Finally got to root, ICS leak, and even rooted that. apparently in the dozens of posts i read, not one of them mentioned the mechanics behind properly booting the phone into recovery mode. ie hold down volume buttons and power until the vibration, then release the power button but maintain holding the volume buttons. seems like a pretty important detail to skip. oh well at least i'm rooted.
