Why M Plus vs. M+?

Just curious...

As an aside, I just picked up the Virgin Mobile LG Optimus Elite which is the same phone.

I am seeking assistance getting the phone rooted, and it seems since these phones are essentially the same I am assuming the root method for one would be the same for the other. Would like to get Titanium Pro installed but can't until I am able to root the phone.

Would like to reach across the aisle to the M+ folks in hopes that collectively we can get some ROM support like what happened with all the flavors of the previous Optimus S/V/?

Thanks

I normally use Phonescoop to compare phones...

I am surprised by what it shows as different between them. Different dimensions, different amount of user RAM, and a different battery amongst possibly other differences I didn't notice.

Another thing I think is a mistake, maybe on both lists, was an assumption that the mobile hotspot that the Sprint version had was available on these phones, but mine doesn't have the hotspot feature, don't know about the MetroPCS version?

I know mine has 2GB of storage compared to the 1GB in that chart.

Thanks

I've read that the Elite has NFC built-in which the M+ does not AFAIK. Doesn't matter to me but just an FYI.
I don't think hotspot is enabled in the M+, I tried wireless tether and it doesn't work (no errors, starts and runs but doesn't seem to put out any signal). Interestingly though, the same app DID work on the old M even though it was never billed as having hotspot ability.

When I tried to run the Mobile Hotspot application it not only wouldn't run, but ended up causing me to have to do a factory reset due to a system error.

I don't know if I will use it, but I like having the Wallet which I miss on my Galaxy SII even though it also has a NFC.

Thanks

Just discovered that the VM version of the Elite is 1ghz. Has someone checked to see if the M+ is 800mhz vs. 1gHz?

I have yet to see a review on the M+. Whenever I look up the phone on YouTube, I only find the M, not the +.

Cowabunga...seems there are more than a couple differences between what is basically the same phone made by the same phone company, but at a different spec for the M+ vs. the Elite.

Have ran three CPU tests on the phone, all report 1GHz. That and the NFC are two big differences between models, but ROM development for one should still be at least partially applicable to both models.
