Why NOKIA still not introduce Android phone?

Can any body know what's the reason, Nokia still not interesting for manufacture Android based smartphone. They already selected Windows OS.:confused:
Are there any hardware or similar issue?

Updated:- Some people say that Microsoft pay money to Nokia for not to manufacture other than Symbian and Windows phones. (If I'm in a Nokia's board of directors i never agree for that)

Nokia made the statement "that them adopting Android was like a Dutch boy peeing in his pants to keep warm."

They are not interested in it and want nothing to do with it...
Why, I don't know...

A while back in 2010(google: Nokia developers flee) a bunch of Nokia developers left and went to develop for Android and Apple so that probably has something to do with it. Plus the fact that there were articles circulating that the top brass at Nokia was holding up development of the Symbian platform with a lot of red tape which seemed to be the norm at Nokia.

I personally migrated to Android from Symbian and was an avid Nokia user, but Android was fast becoming a major player in the mobile phone market and seemed so much more progressive and tinker-friendly than Apple. To answer your question, I think Nokia realizes that it had a chance to offer Android alongside Symbian and missed the chance and Apple was out of the question. Technically, who did that leave? Microsoft, and since WP7 wasn't taking off with all the blast and vigor they expected and MS already had two failed devices(Kin 1 &2 under their belt) What did they have to lose. Just my opinion.

nokia failed with their own OS...

nokia needed a change...

HP got webos.. failed

blackberry... well.. it is following HP.. and palm...

apple aint sharing...

android was in bed with everyone.. and the market was saturated..

google was buying motorolla...

Microsoft was desperate to find a hardware partner.. and willing to throw loads of cash at..to get the load of cash you had to sign an exclusive deal...

nokia needed loads of cash...

so... it is what it is...

Thanks friends! Looks like Nokia will not introduce any android OS phone in next few years.

Nokia is losing revenue and imagine someone pay you lotsa $$$ who would you choose? That decision is not anything technical but pure $$$ at work here. Whether that gamble will take off remains to be seen.

Yep. I thought Symbian was quite good; a little quirky in places but a good OS (I liked it even more than iOS, even if iOS is far more advanced).

It's a real shame because Nokia made some good phones, the best cameras & very good signal. Imo it's their budget handsets that let them down, & perhaps if newer incarnations of Symbian kept up with the rest of us....

Short sighted decision in my opinion. WP7 isn't taking off, and what happens when the exclusivity bribe money dries up? They could be making lots of money making Android phones. I know I would give them a look, Nokia makes great hardware. Seems like a decision based on the arrogance of Nokia not wanting to be "just another Android manufacturer". Not to mention, Nokia hired one of Microsoft's top execs to be one of their top guys. (can't think of his name right this second) Look for Microsoft to outright buy Nokia when Nokia gets a little more desperate. Sad, really.

...what happens when the exclusivity bribe money dries up?
It never will. M$ can and will spend whatever it takes to make WP7 a serious player.

Nokia hired one of Microsoft's top execs to be one of their top guys. (can't think of his name right this second)
Steven Elop. And he was not so much hired by Nokia as assinged to Nokia by Ballmer to be Microsoft's guy leading their coup, as a condition to Nokia getting billions in M$ cash.

Look for Microsoft to outright buy Nokia when Nokia gets a little more desperate.
Likely. Nokia's stock value has been depressed and many thousands laid off making Nokia a bargain price now compared to just a couple of years ago. IMHO this was part of Ballmer/Elop's plan, part of Elop's orders from M$. Get rid of Meego and Symbian (the competition, i.e. anything not WP7) and save M$ money if they decide to buy Nokia outright. Elop has done exactly what he was sent to do.

While all that's been going on in Finland, Ballmer installed another M$ mole as head of Nokia's North America operations.

Resistance was futile. Nokia has been assimilated into the M$ collective.

Microsoft had the money to spend to do whatever it took to make the Zune a serious player vs the iPod, that didn't work. Neither did the Kin. Money is nice, but it can't force people to want something.

M$ quit putting money into the Zune when it became obvious that phones were replacing the function of iPods. The Zune had become redundant so there was no point in continuing it.

The Kin was just a mistake, like a defective runt of the litter. Mother M$ saw that, refused to feed it and let it die.

The Win8/WinPhone strategy is nothing like those. It literally is the future of M$. Whatever it takes to make it go, they will do it.

Nokia devices spec wise are simalar to mid or low end Android phones, they usually add one very good or outstanding feature and everything else sucks.

Just look at their new phone with 41MP camera, nice camera but the rest of the specs are horrible, also it uses Symbian. :D

A 1.3Ghz 512mb RAM and Adreno GPU isn't horrible. It's a little on higher mid range, since its comparably spec'd to a Galaxy W, but its not horrible. I'm using a lower spec'd Android phone and its still fine for my purposes. Besides, its meant to be a camera phone, nothing more. You don't really need dual cores on your phone. Sure its great for gaming but for general productivity you really don't. I still haven't seen an app (that's not a game) labeled as incompatible to a 1Ghz 512mb RAM device. Plus the fact that Symbian is lighter and faster than Android on resources. My 5800XM could still outrun my sister's better spec'd Galaxy Fit in web browsing and general usage.

A 1.3Ghz 512mb RAM and Adreno GPU.

Where have you seen the CPU and version of Adreno they are using? ARM11 @ 1.3GHz, the screen resolution?

The specs i've seen so far look comparble to low end Android devices, for a new device these specs are horrible.

This is going to be priced to compete with high end Android devices, it's a joke.
