Why Not Hero Messaging?

Hi All,
Since joining the list a couple of weeks ago or so while sorting
out getting the phone (As if ) I keep on reading threads
saying that you Guys don't like the stock messaging program
that comes as standard on the Hero and that a Lot of you
are downloading other Apps called "Chomp" and "Handsent).
Can you please tell me what it is that you don't like about the Hero`s
messaging, is it too basic or Buggy, or what?

I found it to be OK although I use Chomp because I like the look of the speech bubbled threads, and it has more options.

My real hate is the on screen keyboard, no amount of practice or calibration makes messaging a good experience on the Hero. If anyone knows of a better more usable keyboard please let me know.

Personally I still use the default SMS program, but I don't have the crazy needs of some people on here (i've seen people talk about 2000 entries in a thread ).

I suggest you spend a day or two using the standard one, get used to it, then try one of the newer ones to compare it to. You might find you need the extra features or like me your happy with the default. The default one isn't buggy, it's just quite simple.
