Why not wait a month for the Evo 3d?

It's just come to my attention that the Evo 3D is coming to the UK in July. I know very little about this handset, and I'm not really interested in it's 3D capabilities, but is it a better handset overall? It certainly seems to be on paper, the two things that dissappointed me about the Sensation were the RAM and battery power, and the Evo 3D has 1GB RAM and a 1720mAh battery. Am I missing something, or is the Evo and all round better phone?

at a glance, looks to be exactly the same otherwise - of course being a 3d display, that will probably hog all of the extra ram & battery power, so it's probably just a matter of whether or not you value 3d enough to pay the extra money it'll likely cost (personally i think it's a useless gimmick)

Completely agree with you about 3D, I'm not bothered about that at all. If I don't use that functionality (I'll assume you can turn it off) will I just end up with a more powerful version of the Sensation?

they are pretty much the same phone. I think the evo 3d has mor einternal storage though and the 3d capabilities. But aside from that, I saw these two phones are parralel phones released in the US just with different carriers.

evo has 5mp camera instead of 8mp on the sensation. I have no interest in 3d so will probably opt for the sensation.

Processor
Evo3D: 1.2ghz dual core with Adreno 220 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8660 chipset
Senation: 1.2ghz dual core with Adreno 220 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8260 chipset

Only difference is the chipset, anyone know any details? Does the higher number mean newer and more efficient?

RAM
Evo3D: 1GB
Sensation: 768MB

Evo3D the clear winner.

Storage
Evo3D: 1GB
Sensation: 1GB

Draw.

Display
Evo3D: 4.3" qHD S-LCD
Sensation: 4.3" qHD S-LCD

Another draw.

Battery
Evo3D: 1730mAh
Sensation: 1520mAh

On paper the Evo is significantly better, but once you start using the 3D capabilities I'd take an educated guess and say they're likely to be much the same. If you aren't going to be using 3D very often, I'd wager that the Evo3D just about wins this round.

Size and Weight
Evo3D:126 x 65 x 12.1 mm, 170g
Sensation: 126.1 x 65.4 x 11.3 mm, 148g

The Sensation is slightly thinner, and significantly lighter. Sensation takes this round.

Camera
Evo3D: 5mp with dual flash, 3D photos in 2mp, VGA front snapper. 1080p video recording, 720p 3D video recording
Sensation: 8mp with dual flash, VGA front snapper. 1080p video recording

The Sensation has the higher quality camera, but the Evo3D can record in 3D, although 3D photos are only at a max of 2mp. We'll call this another draw.

I'm declaring this one too close to call.

Sounds like the 8660 and 8260 are the same chipset with one being for GSM and the other for CDMA. From Qualcomm's website:

The MSM8260 for HSPA+ and MSM8660 for multi-mode HSPA+/CDMA2000
