Why only 1GB?

When I search on Ebay "Evo 4G" and it says for ex. HTC EVO 4G - 1GB - Black (Sprint) Smartphone (as one of the search results) Why is it only 1GB of memory? Wouldn't you like expect at least 8 or 16GB of memory or is that the ram I am very confused also if I bought a evo 4g with bad esn would that mean I could still get a sim card that has more memory than 1GB (Sprint).

The first group of Android Phones had limited internal memory and expansion was done through an external MicroSD card. So even though the EVO 4G is listed as having 1GB memory, you can add a 32 GB card giving it 33 GB total. There is no storage on a sim card.

I would be very weary of buying sd cards on ebay, they are very easy for people to tamper with and make it appear to have more memory than it does. As to if you get a evo with a bad esn then you will have to have it flashed over to a different CDMA network like cricket to use it. CDMA phones don't even have a slot for sim cards that works generally.

I am not using it as a cell phone I want it just for the same purposes to have an iPod touch. So what do you guys recomend where and what I buy to get atleast 16GB of memory onto the Evo 3D phone
