Why so many ex-iphone users?

I've never owned an Android phone before, nor have I ever used one. I decided to switch because I was tired of spending hundreds of dollars on basic/half way decent phones. I figured if I'm going to own a smartphone, I should at least own one that's actually worth being called smart. In otherwords I was tired of my stupid iPhone 4s' small screen, annoying updates, iTunes freezing my laptop, being unable to play videos that aren't from Youtube, and that stupid Safari browser that only works when it feels like it. Ugh.

The point about the apps. In my opinion if you pay for an application and it's offered on both Android and iOS you should be licensed to use it on both. I know things don't work that way (think if you bought a copy of Office 2007 for Windows then bought a MAC an expected Microsoft to give you a copy of that) but the whole point being is yea it does kind of suck having to rebuy applications but at this point what's a few bucks here and there.
