Why The Merger Now ? Bad Marketing.....

Just as: 1) Metro has the LG Motion and will have Galaxy S3 very soon, probably the 2 best

phones they have ever had.

2) They are finally increasing speeds and coverage and call quality with the 4G Network.

3) They are one of the few to have actual unlimited uncapped Plans to attract new customers and other low cost 4G LTE Plans for heavy WIFI users etc.

4) So with all the above I've heard serious contract users thinking of switching over
.. to Metro......

UNTIL- The Merger

------Casting doubt over all of the above including Dealers etc. and leaving a very unclear path for the Future of the Brand and the Plans just when it was radically improving.

Not inspiring new Dealers , Customers , Employees , Developers ,Confidence in the Brand.

What kind of Marketing/ Timing is this ?

Edit: Hopefully T Mobile/PCS will continue with better service ,more phone choices, and thr same great Plans Metro has pioneered with taxes and fees included.

I like Metro PCS they've never added hidden charges and I've been with them since the gray Kyocera that used to drop almost every call when they first started......

So hopefully the Merger will be s big benefit to all......so hopefully my doubts are unfounded .

Seriously.

How the hell would anyone in their right mind decide to drop $500 to $600 for the S3 on Metro after all this.

Why wouldn't you buy the S3 (presuming your inclined to do so in the first place). Nothing is happening or changing for MetroPCS for at least 2 years. Even when they begin truly merging the S3 is still going to be viable since the network will be primarily LTE and VoLTE by then and at that point, I suspect most will be looking for an excuse to switch phones anyway.

Why not getting my s3 this week sell it or just keep it as a mp3 player every phone i had lasted me a year looks like the s3 will last me 2 years I'm fine with that

The weeping and gnashing of teeth of those who've managed to convinced themselves that the merge is a reason to Not Get the S3 they were going to get before the merge IS getting a bit stale. It would only take about 5 minutes of reading here to know that's simply just not the case.

From what I gather, MPCS hasn't ever been that great in communicating with it's customers. I would have liked to have seen them be a little more reassuring to current customers regarding pricing with the merged companies in it's press releases. OTOH, it doesn't appear they've been the rocket surgeons of customer relations/communications in the past either.

It'd be really easy for them to just say, "We're planning on getting our current Metro customers better phones, better coverage and we promise we'll still be the Best Deal for the cost conscious."

Even if/when the merger happens, the patent company won't be in a hurry to force metro customers to make the switch. More or less, the merger is most likely about the spectrum and less about the prepaid plans. T-Mobile needs help getting lte going, and this would be a good jump start. If Sprint were to get it, it would most likely be about the same thing. Sprint could use that for their prepaid services as well

Both companies should fully reveal what their exact intentions are instead of side stepping. If they did this then it would put a lot of people at ease.

As long as i have pre paid 4g somewhere, i really don't care what the company is called.

Actually for T-mobile it probably is as much about prepaid as it is about spectrum. From what I understand their prepaid service is where they are actually growing. They recently announced an unlimited plan. I think they truly see that their future lies in the pre-paid market especially if they can build a network that rivals Verizon and AT&T.

This is why I hope the rumors of a last minute Sprint move doesn't happen. It would be a defensive play by Sprint and I doubt they would put much effort into maintaining MetroPCS. T-mobile seems much more like the merger is part of their actual business strategy.

tmobile currently only has no limit 4G on their $90 contract plan. their highest priced prepaid plan offers 5GB 4G as well as their prepaid $30 web promo plan.

metro would give tmobile that no limit 4G prepaid plan.

They have no limit 4g on their bring your own device plans. Which are much better than their pre paid plans. They have it for 49 i know but not sure if there's one cheaper.

oh yeah, i forgot about their BYOD.

Unsupported Browser

500 talk + no limit 4G = $55
500 talk + no limit text and 4G = $60
no limit all = $70

those are some damn good prices especially when you can get any phone you want.

that $60 plan looks like a good deal especially if night and weekend calls are free.

Yes sir. This is why I'm switching. Well the main reason is i want a new phone but those byod plans look really nice and the 4g is 3 to 4 times faster in my area which is huge for me. Pretty enticing so i have to say bye to metro. :(

my concern would be the taxes and fees. i dont want to be paying an extra $10 in hidden fees on top of the extra $5 i'd shell out a month.

They are just interested in making money and whatever company is willing to buy them out of course they will take the money and who cares if the timing doesn't make sense.

I know first hand that companies could care less about what happens to the little guy.

yes im on tmo with the 70 unli 4g no caps wit the GS2 would get the GS3 but you know i have metro when they was somewhere in the middle of 4g phones and their 4g lte network got a phone for 450 tried to take it back but in fine print your not allow to have it on for 1hour but it had it for 1 day and the issue was it only last 2-4 hours standby long sotry short it was bad no hely the run around unless phone and then the prices was going up and the data was slow for 4g atleast
and after you look at everything it you want unli everything with no cap in data on tmo you will be paying 69 discount on phone
on metro if you want the same its 70 no contract have to but phone

Exactly-I'd hate to see the new T Metro be like Comcast with tons of extra charges.

One thing about Metro PCS-I've always found them very straightforward regarding billing and charges.

That is a huge perk to metro. But i do know that the byod plans have just tax, no fees. Idk about the pre paid plans or contract plans.

Does anyone know what's added onto straight talks 45 dollar plan? Tax, fees, nothing?

I read on the Straight Talk forum it's $49 and some odd cents total.

They have the gs3 for as of right now with an offer of buy one get one FREE!!!! That's very attractive
