This may be a dumb question but here goes... I just got the Motorola Droid from Verizon with their data plan. Both at home and work, I can access the internet with wifi. Is there any advantage to using one over the other (obviously I use the data plan when wifi isn't available)? The data plan is one monthly fee that I had to pay anyway, but I didn't know if there was something I was missing?

Yes this is the main advantage over 3G. Wifi will be much faster in general. The responce time as well should be much better. I found 3G to be slow as hell compared to my 25Mbps cable wireless at home.
Its insane really Wifi will be better most the time and faster responce on pulling links over using 3G. 3G is useful when your on the road.
