Wi-Fi Hotspot after Sprint Enhancement Update

I have two of these phones, one that can't be updated due to invalid CRC check (removed bloatware) and one that was stock (and was updated). I've not seen any mention of it so I have to ask. Is it just me or do you now have this feature unlocked by default?

I am on Virgin Mobile with both of these phones, thought this was against VM TOS and am amazed it's available in stock update. Anyone else have this?.

Does it actually function??
 
I just tried it and it turned the hotspot back off because I wasn't signed in to pay for the hotspot, which is their new payment plan of $5 for a day's use and 250 megs. Can't see when I'd use it, but nice to know it's there.
 
I hadn't turned it on (no use for it currently), but really good to know it's tied to an additional payment plan going to have to test it further. I use wifi-tether (from google code) on my rooted one, forget paying extra for it!
