Wi-fi issues with Froyo???

Okay- first off, gotta think this has been covered, but a quick search reavealed only old posts....

But, got the ota froyo for my mytouch a few weeks back- and while flying home for the holidays I noticed on the airplane (that had wireless in flight) that my phone wouldn't connect... But person next to me was having no problems on their laptop....

So there's been lots of ink on the issue of froyo having issues connecting to wifi networks, but no solutions that I've found.
The wifi on the flight wasn't protected... at my sisters house where I used to have no problems connecting to her network when I had 1.6, the 2.2 won't connect here either...

I've already done a clean wipe of the OS per someone's suggestion and no luck...

So....... anyone know of any fixes????????

My MyTouch 3G got the OTA update from 1.6 and connects to my home wireless network easily. Mine is secured. Is your phone 'seeing' the networks you want to connect to? If it is, is the problem that it can't obtain an IP address? More info please.

Yeah, the phone sees the Networks, tries to join, says it's obtaining the ip address and loses it. Then repeats.... Over and over.....

I'm having the same issue. I connected to a network just a couple weeks ago but for the past two days I've been hit with the "Obtaining IP address..." cycle.

I rarely use wifi, but I had this problem too connecting to my own secured router after the 2.2 update. My phone could connect to other routers, but was doing the same as above trying to connect to mine. I don't think I did anything to fix it, but this problem did go away after a few times of trying to connect a few days later. I hope this problem goes away for you too
