Help Wi-Fi password connectivity problem

Not sure if this is the correct place but oh well, when I go to connect to any network on my phone and the password thing pops up I enter the password but it won't accept it, my password is all letters and unless I put a number or punctuation into the password field the "connect" button is greyed out. I just recently sent it to Samsung for repair so I am quite    .
Any ideas

You should be using a password with at least 1 upper case letter, one lower case letter, one digit (0-9) and one special character (punctuation). This is just standard computer security practice

Until you've met those 4 criteria, your .connect button has no reason to be active.

It's like it's asking for your first and last names and you type John. It can't connect with that login.

There are no special requirements on that password, except that you have to remember it! Can you not just ask the owner of the router for the correct, current password?

You misunderstand me, the password is not incorrect, it just wont let me actually enter the bloody thing because I can't click the damn button, it is not the router, I tested it on other networks and the same thing happens, I CANNOT enter the password unless it has a number or punctuation in it.

This is very peculiar. Once a password has been established with plain alphabetics or whatever, there is no requirement anywhere that there must be other characters in it.

But you type this correct password and the connect button stays grayed out.

I am wondering if there are two levels of password involved, one in your phone, and another to get thru the modem. And perhaps you have not set up the one in your phone that it is asking for.

I am not familiar with the specifics so this is just a guess; something to make the actual behavior make sense.

Are you talking about accessing thru a WiFi connection? So you turn on the phone, it scans for WiFi hotspots, finds one, and asks for the password as part of the connection process? Or is it some other network access process?

EDIT: I just looked at the thread title :o and so yes, we are talking about WiFi access. So there is no other password that should be required.

I too am stumped. Hope you find an answer, and soon :)
