Help wi-fi says connected but I cannot connect!help

Hi Guys

Please please please assist me in connecting my samsung galaxy tab v10.1 to my wifi (through my router).

it says connected but when I try to log into the web it does not allow me too and it says "timed out". I have read different forums and I have not understood what they actually saying I should do, as some say I should reset and others say I should change a static IP address.

Can you pleae assist with the simplest step by step guide on how to fi this problem?

If you haven't turned the tablet off(hold the power button and select power off) I would try that first. Then turn it back on and see if the problem is still there.

Next, if the tablet works on another WiFi network than I would think this is a wireless network problem and not necessarily the tablet. Some routers don't play nice with some devices. If it's possible, I would check if you are having this same problem on another wireless network.

I had a similiar problem on a friends WiFi and even though laptops in the house could connect and were working, the tablet didn't work till he cycled the power on the router. I have also had better luck in general with wireless devices only using the G wireless standard from the router and not using N. This has to be set on the router as the tablet will automatically detect what standards are being used and choose the best standard possible.

You will want to google how to adjust your router settings, if in fact your tablet works on other wireless networks and cycling the power on the router doesn't work either. The instructions are usually specific to which router you have so refer to the specific model when looking for these instructions.
