I do it all the time. Use the app from code.Google.com called wifi tether. The network sux however.

I use an app called Barnacle in the market its FREE!!!!! it works great for my wife when we are out and she wants to look at something on her ipod touch, she just connects and go.

I am in Downloads- android-wifi-tether-wireless...-google Code. Which file do I download for my Samsung Admire?

I have wifi_tether_v3 1-beta11.apk. Is this the correct apk? How do I connect the Mac to this once I have in Phone?

Its just an apk. You install it on your rooted phone, then start it(sometimes it takes a few tries) and then connect to it through network manager. (I dont use mac but i seem to remember it being called airport on osx) its the picture of the wifi rings on the top.

If your WiFi tethering doesn't work and you get some stupid ToS error trying to access a web browser try to revert to a previous PRL like 3026. Mine wouldn't work on 3027 at first so I reverted back then updated again.. seems to be fine tethering still.

im running the orig beta2 without the update package (it wouldnt fit on my sdcard) and i generally have no issues tethering 16+hrs a day, and im running opengarden.. make sure you change everything in qpst that says yournumber@aaak.mymetropcs.com to just @mymetropcs.com.. theres a couple tabs in there that use the @aaak., two under the ppp tab, and use your spc in the password boxes, in the Um and An settings.. i went through qpst and changed all these, and never edited my build.prop and have no problems..

I've been trying to get qpst to work for 2 days now.. Reverting back to monster 4 from cm7 tonight to see if I can get it to work.. Ill post screen shots to help out if you guys are still having problems..
