Wi-Fi will not turn!

I have had a Samsung Galaxy s4 for the last 6 or so months and today the wi-fi has decided it no longer wants to work. My carrier internet works just fine but whenever i try to turn on wi-fi it tries to turn on for a a few seconds then fails. It started (at least i think) when i tried to turn on my wi-fi hotspot and it didnt work.

The hell is going on??? Frustrating the hell out of me.

Hi

Not sure but

If you have time "forget the network"
Turn off wifi - i guess it's off anyway

Reboot the phone
Reboot the router
Turn on wifi

If this doesn't work and you have the same problem on multiple wifi networks it could be a hardware failure.
