I am a new Tab 2 7.0 user, just received as father's day gift, but am having trouble geting wi fi to work. I do not yet have a home router, but am trying to use Tab 2's own wi fi networks. How do I get wi fi to function at home, and what will I have to do once traveling to maintain wi fi usage and reception?

Have a wireless router or a AP installed on your home internet and then you will have WiFi for your tab.

Until then you can use it when you are out and about at places like Wendy's, mcds, jcpenny, etc.

The tablet will notify you with a small sign in the bottom right hand corner. Click the notification and choose the wireless network that does not have a lock on it. There is usually a strength indicator. So choose the stronger signal without a lock.

Sometimes like at Wendy's there will be a page you have to read and agree to before you can use the tabs internet

The Tab 2 MUST have a wi-fi signal available. It cannot create one on its own.
Do any of your neighbors have an open connection until you get your own?
As far as traveling, all hotels have wi-fi and most businesses will have some type of access.

I have my galaxy since december 2012, i've never had problem with wifi connection.

Today, the tablet is connected to my home wifi as always, but it has not navigation on the web browser neither any other application such as Skype, emails, etc.

I try to change network DHCP to static, but it did not solve anything.

What can i do?

Please

Reboot/power cycle your router, then set it back to DHCP.

not sayin hes correct........ but Id suggest at least trying a router reboot.... often thats the problem

my wife and daughters phone will many times be working fine on the wifi..... but wifes laptop will connect to router without internet access...... rebooting the router always fixes the problem

yes, definitely try rebooting the router / modem. It's easy and worth a shot. When this is happening though it may be a recurring situation. we are having these sorts of issues at work and resetting the modem works but we are having to do it everyday.

i occasionally get this at home with one or two devices not working, it's a sign they will soon all go off.

Definitely give it a try.
