ROM - HTC OTA Froyo 2.2, *FINAL*, build 3.36.651.6 (Rooted) Odexed

Kernel - [Kernel]netarchy-toastmod, updated for 2.2 - Version 3.7.6c

I didnt have time to speed test it, but while on lunch and with only 1 bar of 4G websites were loading wicked fast, where they were only quick before :D

I am in Minneapolis and I just connected to 4G!!! Had the EVo for about 3 weeks and now we have 4G!!! So super fast! How will I get any work done?

I've been getting up to 10MB down and 1MB up in Hotlanta, GA, ever since Clear (owned by Sprint) started service last year. On my EVO, I can get top speeds of 10MB in my apt, which is within spitting distance of a tower.

The 3G/4G speeds are definitely affected by time of day and distance to towers, obviously.

For those outside of 4G areas... I feel bad for y'all!

How far is the range? Reason why I ask is that I live on the fringe of the northern suburbs and I have not been able to access 4g. :(

I haven't noticed any speed changes in 4G since Froyo, and I'm not sure that HTC/Google even did anything that would even affect 4G in this update.

I think they did some major tweaking. My 3g speeds has always sucked in and around my house, but now I am getting 2-3mbps down and 1ish up. Signal strength has also improved when I'm inside. I rarely drop below 3 bars unless I'm in the basement.

Im in minnesota too, where'd you go to get coverage in minneapolis? I might have to go out with the girl and her friends just to try it out.

it sucking big time at my house. i can barely pull 3 megs down. prior to last week, i would get 5+ no problem.

tethered with pdanet, i pull 1.3 still.

The best I have gotten was around 5 mbps I think. Haven't tested 4G since the 2.2 update.

I did some tests tonight (upstairs by the window, because I can't get 4G anywhere else in my house) and got some downloads around 7.5 mbps, by far the best I have ever got.

Pulling 1.5 to 2.2 in the Monroe, WA area... About 10 miles from the 4G towers in Snohomish, WA... Pretty solid 1.0 up, but down is just depressing... Course, I am only pulling 700k down on 3G...
