Widget for 1 click voice recording to Google Tasks?

I use gtasks to manage my google tasks. I would love a widget that I could click and it will automatically start voice recording to make a new google task. Currently I have to click to make a new Google Task, and then click and hold on the keyboard to start the voice recording. Of course I don't want to keep actual audio recordings - the program will translate my audio into text.

Thanks for any ideas and assistance!

I love Gtasks.

It'll take you two clicks from the homescreen.
Open Gtasks any way you want.
Click the lower right hand corner microphone next to "quick add new task".

If you want one-click from homescreen, use keep. That widget has a mic direclty on it. It also has benefit of saving both the transcription and the audio (so if you can't understand the transcription because it's slightly garbled, you can listen to it). I use it mostly to make quick notes to myself while driving. I don't have to worry about even reading to verify it recorded my voice properly (since the audio is there). I don't bother assigning a category or alarm at the time I record it. But after a trip (when I know I've got some items recorded into keep), I go through them while on pc and transfer them to Tasks and add categories and where necessary date alarms. Then sometimes I'll go to gtasks to add a time to the alarm if necessary.

Electricpete - thanks for the response!

I've also stumbled on an app called any.do which has a homescreen widget for 1 click voice recording for Google Tasks.

I do like your suggestion of "Google Keep" though, which automatically records the audio file. Plus, you can select "share" from Google Keep to push notes over to GTasks but that is a manual process.

Thanks!

I didn't realize that. I see now Gtasks shows up on the share list from Keep if and only if I delete the audio file (one-click on the x) first. That's handy to know.

Do you use Gtasks and Any.do on the same phone?
Seems like that would probably work but I'd be a little leery of creating situations that might confuse the programs and make them F.C. which possibly would corrupt the data. I remember reading here on the forums that someone had all the google tasks scrambled using GTO iirc....

That possibility makes me nervous because I have captured a lot of valuable notes on there over time that I have come to rely on. Now I back up my tasks once in awhile. ( https://tasks-backup.appspot.com/ )
