Help Widget refresh rate?

Ive seen a few people say to make sure your widgets arent updating to often. Ive gone through my phone and not yet have a seen an option that controls widget update times, am I missing something?

its generally in the settings for whatever app the widget is from...it will be specific for each widget generally
