WidgetLocker Wallpaper Color Inaccuracies

Lurker
I've searched high and low on the internet trying to find any answers to this, but so far no luck.

I have a wallpaper I'm trying to use as an alternative wallpaper in WidgetLocker. It's just a basic black wallpaper with a pic of the moon on it. If I set it as my wallpaper for the phone, the black looks black. It looks black in Photoshop. However, in WidgetLocker, it looks gray. No matter how much I tweak it, it looks gray in WidgetLocker and black on everything else.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Using a stock Nexus S 4g (rooted).

If you are using it as your standard background, what happens when you turn of WidgetLocker's alternate background?

I've tried several background images and they seem to display identically.

If I use the same wallpaper and turn off alternative wallpaper, it displays like it should.

I should mention that I've tried other wallpapers and get the same issue.
