Widgets not updating

I have 3 widgets installed on my Samsung S7 Edge. Two of the widgets (financial) do not update when running on battery but one (weather) does. The two that normally don't seem to update when the phone is plugged in.

Any idea what sort of power management setting I might have changed that could be causing this? I'm running the latest Android update from Verizon. It may have started happening on a previous update, I'm not positive.

Thanks. For #1, both are under the "Unmonitored apps" list, so they should not be getting restricted. For #2, "Data saver" is set to off.

I decided to turn off all power saving features and the problem has disappeared. So there must be something that I either set or that is working incorrectly which is causing the widgets to not be able to update.

So I have resolved the issue. I turned the power saving mode back to Mid, and the problem returned. So I managed to customize the mode so it did not turn off background data. Once I turned that back on, the widgets started updating again. I am surprised that more people don't run into this problem but maybe most people don't use power saving modes and widgets.
