Widgets on Home Screen

I added a widget to appear on the home screen, but can't figure out how to now remove it from showing up on the home screen. Any help?

Place your finger on the widget icon until you get a box or line around the icon (keep your finger on the icon/ widget)...then just drag the box down to the bottom of the screen. That should delete it.

I had the same question and tried what you suggested, but it doesn't work on my Motorola Droid

Long press on the icon -> You will now be able to drag it around -> Drop it into the trash can that will appear bottom-middle of the screen
