Widgets won't delete

Hawkella

I am trying to delete some widgets (but keep the app). I drag them up to the trash can - it glows red and shakes - I let go, go back to the widgets screen and its still there. Why is it not deleting?

You cannot delete the widgets without uninstalling the app they are connected to. Its part of the app.

You might have a look in the app's settings, maybe you can choose to disable its widget.

Question what operating system are you using MIUI or android, I believe under MIUI if you remove the icon you uninstall the system, but if its in android you could try to go into system and clear your setting for the launcher to get rid of that widget but its kind of a hassle to reset you settings later tho.

When I ran Gingerbread, I used Autostarts to keep widgets from appearing in the list. I haven't tried it under ICS or Jelly Bean (I assume you're on one of them, since it sounds like you have widgets in the drawer), but it's worth a try.

And like Harry2 said, some apps let you disable widgets in the settings.
